Angie VanDonge
MSN, APRN-C, WCC
Angie is a nurse practitioner with experience in a variety of
settings including family practice, urgent cares, hospitals, emergency departments, assisted living facilities, and skilled and long-term care facilities. Angie is certified through WCON as a wound care provider and has been serving wound care patients since 2016. Angie is proficient in PointClickCare and able to integrate progress notes and orders directly into your facility’s EMR. Angie understands the importance of facility cost savings, recommending generics whenever possible. With experience and extensive knowledge of state requirements, Angie helps facilities maintain compliance and avoid wound care tags. Angie believes knowledge is power and takes every opportunity to educate bedside nurses and care assistants on wound prevention, early recognition and current wound treatments.
As the owner and operator of Ascend Wound Care, LLC., Angie applies her experience and integrity to providing quality wound care with the patient in mind.

Jennifer McKechnie
MSN, FNP-BC, WCC
As a certified Family Nurse Practitioner with over 12 years of experience, Jennifer McKechnie brings a compassionate and holistic approach to patient care. She has been a registered nurse for 17 years and holds a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Kansas. Throughout her career, Jennifer has primarily worked in family medicine, with a strong focus on wound care. She is dedicated to treating the whole person and has a special passion for helping senior adults with their unique health needs. Outside of her professional work, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her three boys, cheering them on at sporting events, baking delicious treats, and reading.

Ashley Roberts
CSN, CWCN, OMS
Ashley is a registered nurse with over 14 years of nursing experience, with the last 12 years specializing in wound care. After graduation, she began her career in a cardiac care unit of a Kansas City area hospital. Within a few years, Ashley transitioned into the wound and ostomy specialties in the acute care setting, then expanded to outpatient services where she oversaw and managed the opening and operations of a successful hospital-based wound and hyperbaric center. Ashley has since transitioned to the home health setting, where she provides wound education and skills training to clinicians, chart overview of wound care best practices, and individual patient consultation on appropriate wound treatments. Ashley is wound certified through WOCNCB, and ostomy certified through NAWCO. She recently completed her Master’s Degree in the Family Nurse Practitioner track and looks forward to continuing to care for wound and ostomy patients. Ashley believes in patient-centered, high-quality care, while being mindful of individualized needs.
When Ashley is not working or in school, she enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, playing sports, and traveling with her husband and two sons.


Nate Howard
RN, WCC, OMS
Nate has been a registered nurse in the Kansas City metro area since 2019 and has been passionate about wound care from the start of his career. After spending time in skilled/long term care, he transitioned to the outpatient setting for 4 years, learning the skills required to be a wound care nurse. Now he is a wound/ostomy nurse in the acute care setting where he works with a team to coordinate care for patients in the hospital. Nate is WCC and OMS certified, showing his commitment to excellence in wound and ostomy care. His greatest passion lies in mentoring and empowering fellow nurses, fostering confidence and pride in the vital wound care services they provide.
